You know it’s going to be a fun one when two island boys with big families come home to get married! Tyler & Blair, both Oahu natives, found it only fitting to return to the place they grew up and fell in love to celebrate their commitment to one another. Their rustic-chic inspired garden wedding came to life with the help of amazing vendors and the ABC team!

Tyler and Blair held their wedding at Moanalua Gardens sacred Kamana Iki Mound. Located just outside Honolulu this historic site is actually a privately owned park that is open to the public as well as available to host weddings and events.  Moanalua Gardens Park is rich in history and is most known for being the site of the Kamehameha V Summer Cottage. We love working at this gorgeous venue; they offer 10 different unique and beautiful sites across the property. From the beautiful gardens to the stunning plantation-style summer cottage, to the rare Japanese Hitachi trees and of course the epic mountains there is no shortage of epic photo locations.

The couple wanted a rustic chic-inspired garden wedding with a fresh modern twist and that is exactly what they got!  The decor featured a clear top tent, mini cafe lights galore, Edison-style bulbs hanging over their head table, wooden cross-back chairs, dark farm tables, and logs with fresh greenery and yellow blooms as centerpieces!

The most unique element and the centerpiece of this reception was the Bon Dance Tower!! A Bon dance is a Japanese Buddhist custom performed to honor the spirits of one’s ancestors it is a way of letting them know you’re having a good time in this life. The lanterns strung above the dance floor serve as a symbolic reminder to seek the light of the Buddha. The tower was a total statement piece and set the mood for a super fun night of dancing and celebrating. The couple’s grand entrance and first dance around the tower was totally EPIC!!

This wedding day was overflowing with a very close-knit Ohana feel. Family and friends all chipped in to make the “best day ever” possible for the lucky couple. Tyler and Blair were over the moon with how the day unfolded and was just so stoked to have the opportunity to celebrate their love with those they love!
