This Lanikuhonua wedding was an extra special one for the ABC Team to be a part of. As college sweethearts and former classmates of our team members, helping make this couple’s wedding dreams come true was not only an honor but a sincere pleasure for us.  Olivia and Kody are one of those couples whose love is so magically strong you can actually feel it in the air when you are around them. They were literally buzzing with excitement to finally be getting married the entire day!

The Love Story:

Olivia and Kody met as students at the University of Hawaii Manoa. Kody is a former UH football player and Olivia played on the women’s volleyball team. They started out as mutual friends but undeniable chemistry and a long list of common interests, including their dedication to their college sports and love for the Hawaiian outdoors, quickly brought them together. With both of their families living in California, it was an easy transition to move back to the mainland after college and start their life together. When they decided it was time to make it official it wasn’t even a question that they would celebrate in the place where they first fell in love, on Oahu! How romantic is that!? Their bright and tropical meets rustic themed wedding went off without a hitch and was an absolute blast for everyone. His groomsmen were all football players and her girls were all volleyball players. The whole party was like a UH Manoa Alumni sports reunion!

Wedding Day

One of our favorite moments of the evening is when Olivia performed a Siva Samoa for her new husband. She was shy and nervous to start, but when she danced, both Kody and the crowd went absolutely wild for her. The energy of the entire group lit on fire! It was absolutely amazing to watch!

To put the cherry on top of this romantic fairytale island wedding week the couple ventured out to Waimanalo Country Farms a few days after their wedding with Joseph Esser to capture photos frolicking among the sunflower fields. Olivia’s gorgeous, natural, boho style hair and makeup by Jessica Style made her look like a true glowing “flower-child”. She was also given a surprise Haku from her new, thoughtful husband.

This entire wedding weekend celebration was bursting with love and joy for everyone involved! We have a special place in our hearts for these college sweethearts on a personal level but we also loved being a part of their wedding! Check out some of our favorite shots from the day below for a tropical rustic inspired wedding. HUGE Shout out to this dream team for helping make our special friends’ day one they will never forget:
