We LOVE that Elopements are becoming more and more popular! The simplicity, the adventure, and most importantly the fact that the day is just about the two of you, feeling and sharing your love! You are giving up all the bells and whistles of a traditional wedding but there is one detail a girl should never have to skimp on…. Her wedding dress!! Here we would like to expand on some tips on elopement wedding dress styles
Now, like any wedding dress you should choose something that fits the style and location of the elopement, something that is flattering but most importantly something that is YOU! Having an elopement “traditionally” allows you a little bit more freedom to do just that!
So here are some things to consider in choosing your Elopement Wedding Dress!
TIPS:
- Obviously based on your ceremony location, consider something light, simple and easy to get on and move around in!
- Silhouette, if you are adventuring to your wedding it’s going to be key to think about a dress that’s shape is easy to walk in. We recommend flowy loose skirt style and staying away from a mermaid style dress.
- You’re already breaking most wedding traditions so who says it has to be white! If a white gown isn’t you then don’t wear it on your wedding day! Or have one of each!

We, and many brides out there are LOOOOOVING boho style dresses that are such a fitting combo to ANY adventure setting- beach, forest, mountaintop, cliff-side you name it! Within this boho category, there are so many options….. LACE (so many different kinds), fitted or A-line, short, long or no sleeves, cutouts, trains, lengths etc…

Never underestimate the power of Simplicity it is SOOOO beautiful!!! Something flowy, something FUN, something that allows you to move around (maybe even dance, hike and climb) the way you want to! We love this option, especially for adventure elopements. They are easy to pack in a backpack allowing the bride to get to her location in comfort and then change and really just embrace all the elements and enjoy your WEDDING DAY the way you want to!
A more Classic GOWN approach
You’re eloping, (and maybe making it an adventure) so you definitely don’t have to give up that classic dress you’ve dreamed of having since you were a little girl. We love that these ladies went for the whole shebang and chose a full gown. You don’t have to give up the length, train, veil, volume or intricate details just because it’s only you and your man.
