These photos by Jenna Lee Pictures are proof that it will be worth it to do a post-wedding photoshoot. There are so many emotions that happen on the wedding day and so many guests to please. The couple often runs out of time to get quality photos where both the bride and groom are relaxed and enjoying their love story. We were very excited to head to the Big Island of Hawaii to have Jenna capture beautiful moments as newlyweds.

We originally planned to shoot at the Kalapana Lava Fields but Tropical Storm Darby closed out the national park and we had to make other arrangements. We headed to the northern part of Big Island and hiked down to Waipio Valley Black Sand Beach with our wedding attire in our backpacks. The weather was eerie and the clouds felt heavy but we were up for the adventure. As soon as we stepped foot onto the black sand beach we ran around the beach like children as we soaked in the beauty of it all.

With the clouds getting darker and heavier, we proceed to put on our wedding attire and danced around the beach together as Jenna Lee worked her magic. Tropical Storm Darby slowly but surely approached the beach as we were wrapping up the shoot. We turned around to head back to our changing area and noticed the wild horses so casually approaching us! It felt like something out of a dream. We hung around for a few more minutes before rushing off the beach and heading back to the cars.

Thank goodness the weather cooperated and we were able to pull it off. I’ll never forget the magic and romance felt on the beach that day.
