A Personal Message from the Aloha Bridal Connections Team

This post is going to be a little different. With everything that is going on in the world right now, we thought it would be a good time to take a break from showcasing real weddings, telling love stories, sharing useful wedding tips, and gloating over our favorite Hawaii vendors. Instead, today, we want to use this space as an online journal.

This is an incredibly uncertain, uneasy, and difficult time for everyone. So, we wanted to connect with our readers, clients, and vendors and let them know they aren’t alone. We thought it would be nice to share some personal thoughts, feelings, and perspectives on what we have all been going through.

Each member of our team has put together a little message for YOU!! We hope that by reading these we can all help each other understand this situation a little better and connect on how everyone is feeling and dealing with it. No one really knows what to say, do, or feel right now. What we DO know is that we all need to keep showing up and supporting each other.

It doesn’t matter what area you need it in we are here to offer help and support through this difficult season. If you have ANY questions, want someone to talk to or need extra support feel free to reach out to us at any time!

We are all in this together!!

Lauren — Co-Owner and Founder:

“I have always been thinking about a 1 year, 3 year, 5 year plan for ABC but I never could have imagined something like this would have happened.” Lauren thought it was important for us to get out from behind the emails and all this craziness to just TALK about what is going on. She wants to connect with our couples, vendors and industry friends to help each other try and understand the situation and share our feelings on what’s going on.

Lauren’s number one piece of advice: “Take a deep breath, none of us know how to deal with this and that’s okay. But we WILL figure it out and find the best solution for everyone. So, take a deep breath and let’s talk about the future dates instead of giving up.”

Natalie — Co-Owner and Operations Manager:

“We know everything is very uncertain and although we don’t have all the answers we want to remind you that we are here in support of everyone. Whether you need to talk about logistics, have questions about the current circumstance here or even just need a friend to vent to ABC is here for you!”

Her message to all our couples that are going through this right now is that though it is all uncertain we want to eventually get that excitement back with you for your wedding plans. “I know that COVID-19 has “stolen the thunder” in regards to the focus for all the wedding plans but we want to steal that focus back! Our team wants to make sure you have that warm love, support and feel that excitement and butterflies once more.

Natalie is encouraging everyone and anyone to reach out no matter what type of support they need. “We are sending a big warm hug and warm love to all our clients and vendors who are struggling right now!”

Julie — Kauai Lead, Team Manager, Sheraton Kauai Partnership Manager:

“For all of our couples who have decided to reschedule their upcoming weddings I understand you have feelings of disappointment and frustration, however I highly encourage you to stay positive and find the silver lining! This means more time for planning, more time to wrap up DIY projects and other details.”

Julie is in the same boat as many of you and has also made the decision to postpone her own wedding. She can 100 % empathize with how our couples are feeling and is offering support during this hard time. “Don’t feel ashamed of the feelings you are going through, they are very valid.”

Kelly — Lead Wedding Coordinator:

Kelly is encouraging everyone to stay positive! “We have all been swamped with headlines, news reports, and just a lot of overwhelming information. I just wanted to reach out with a friendly reminder that we all need to try and stay positive through this time.” She wants to allude to the fact that it isn’t easy adjusting to having more time at home and free time on our hands. So, take some time to remind ourselves of all there is to be grateful for.

“We are all going through this together. Any feelings, concerns, or stress that you are having most of us are dealing with the same thing.” She explains that this is why it is so important for us all to be there for each other right now. ABC is here for you, Kelly encourages you to reach out with any questions or just need any general support. “Stay safe, stay healthy and let’s all try to try to stay positive!”

Gabe — Vendor Relations Manager:

“I want to encourage you to reach out if you need anything. Vendors and clients, we are here to help you as best as we can.” Gabe manages all of ABC’s vendor partnerships, the expansion of ABC throughout the state, and is also our in-house Officiant. He says “This is an important time check-in with yourself. Yes, practice social distancing. But we don’t have to practice social isolation. Check-in with yourself, your family, your loved ones, your pets, etc!” This is a good opportunity to address anything we may tend to neglect in our day-to-day hustle.

Before joining the ABC team Gabe worked in EMS and can only imagine what they are going through right now. He wants to say “a BIG Mahalo to the medical staff that is out there on the front lines.”

“We WILL get through this everybody!”

Jake — Vendor Relations:

“This is a pretty crazy time right now!” Jake hopes everyone is staying healthy and practicing their social distancing. “We have both current and future couples reaching out for our advice and we are continuing to recommend postponement.” We are continuing to recommend clients reschedule not cancel. “We want to make sure your wedding happens here in Hawaii. We have a great team to help do that.” Right now, Jake is working very closely with our vendors primarily checking on availability. “We have all the necessary tools to make sure your wedding still happens. If you have any questions regarding cancellation policies or future dates please reach out.”

MAHALO & We got this!

We hope that these messages find you safe and healthy. As our company name states our mission is to serve our clients and vendors with the true spirit of aloha. We encourage you to tackle each day with as much positivity as you can muster up. Know, that there are days that will feel harder than others and that is okay. On these days we encourage you to reach out to family, loved ones or our team. You are not alone, we are all in this together and we will get through this together!

This too shall pass…
