Tip of the Week: Choosing your receptions staffers wisely!

Right before the doors open to your reception and the program begins, there’s the matter of handling check in! So who will do it? Surely not the bride and groom! Pick someone who can handle large crowds, who is reliable, organized, friendly, and people oriented!

Friends or family of the couple can be asked to help out with all the duties that come with reception check in. Usually two people are asked to help with this important task.

In the past, we have had weddings where the reception check in staffers are no where to be found! Without a call or warning of their absence, we are forced to step in and carry out the duties warranted for the reception check in table. This preoccupies us with tasks such as checking people in, receiving all the gifts, making sure all guests sign the guest book or leave a note, and assure that everyone knows what table they are sitting at! That’s a lot of work that takes up a lot of time that we do not account for.
