Every wedding is different – Today, we will talk about the Power of Personalization
Personalization has always been an important piece of the wedding day. The special occasion is littered with meaning from vows to song choices to monograms. Personalization may sound like old news to wedding aficionados, but this facet of weddings has evolved a lot and new ways of personalization continue to emerge. We want to provide you with some of our new favorite ways to brand your wedding day with the story of your love!
Invite Personalization
Save-the-dates and invites are the first encounter many of your guests will have with your special day! It’s important to imbue your invites with meaning and establish the overall tone of what you imagine your day will look like as well. There is a huge difference between a 70’s disco, casual theme and Italian Vineyard in Spring theme. What do you want to express and impress your guests through your invites? Are you aiming for the party of a century? Or a serene ceremony cementing your place as soulmates?
Personalization is a great way to accomplish your tone! Consider including a polaroid picture of you both tucked inside with the invite for an indie, casual feel or a stunning portrait with the invite details below in a clean, minimalistic font for a sophisticated tone. Perhaps you can save some money by personalizing each invite yourself. This one is fun especially if you have a penchant for calligraphy (or are willing to learn?)!
My favorite current trend is bespoke, illustrated invites. These custom invites can include an illustration of the venue, your first date, your home, etc. This is always my recommendation as it not only elevates the invite, but truly speaks to the beauty of your love story in a unique way. There are so many options and avenues to personalize your invites!
Seating & Guest-Book Personalization
While this day is definitely all about your love, your guests are a huge part of the experience! It can be so meaningful and impactful to include odes to your family, friends, etc in attendance. Personalizing seating is a fantastic way of accomplishing this and I promise Nana is gonna love it!
Consider using old pictures of guests! This adds important meaning to your special day. These people have been with you through many of life’s seasons. Tribute to that fact through vintage photos of you with your friends and family. Or personalized notes to each of your loved ones!
Cocktail Hour Personalization
Cocktail hour is one of my favorite pieces of the wedding day to get innovative with. It’s not as formal as the ceremony itself and sets the tone for the fun of the reception to follow. Personalization can be a guiding hand for your cocktail hour festivities and overall theme.
It’s always more meaningful when the couple’s signature drinks are themed after the couple’s life. I’ve seen cocktails named after dogs, the road names of past homes, favorite tv shows, etc. The guests always eat it up! Another way to spruce up cocktail hour is through personalized napkins. Including your name or initials and even fun facts about you as a couple certainly add a special touch.
Power of Personalization for YOUR day
Pinterest can be been a lifesaver when it comes to planning your special day, but don’t forget to think outside the box! What sets you apart as a couple? What drives you both? What has shaped you? Find a way to incorporate these facets into your wedding day and it will only serve to bolster the significance and love you feel throughout your festivities!
