Brooke & Rico say I Do with a Vintage Island Themed Wedding at Turtle Bay Resort

Oahu destination wedding couple Brooke and Rico’s celebrated their union with a vintage island-themed wedding at Turtle Bay Resort. This couple’s love story began when they met the way many do in this day and age. Today, online dating is one of, if not THE most popular way for couples to meet. When they connected it was magic. Sparks were flying and their connection was magnetic, the future for these two lovebirds was bright. Before they knew it they were saying I Do in Hawaii, where Rico grew up, with all their closest friends and family as witnesses!

Treasured Moment

Our favorite moment of this wedding day was Brooke and Rico’s super special first look. Not only did they share this intimate moment, seeing each other before the ceremony, just the two of them, but they also took this time to exchange personal, private vows with each other.

Ceremony on the Beach

As most people getting married in Hawaii, this couple envisioned a ceremony on the beach! Hawaii state law prohibits arches, chairs, and other structures on all public beaches which is why couples with the dream of getting married on the beach have to seek out private beach options. Turtle Bay Resort offers an amazing one! Brooke and Rico chose to say their vows at Kuilima Point beach. This location was perfect for them! Oceanfront with a beautiful Hawaiian ambiance. Their private beach ceremony included a circle arch with tropical florals and dark wood cross back chairs in an intimate semi circle. The crystal clear pacific ocean served as the perfect backdrop for the ceremony of their dreams.

Reception on the Lawn

Their outdoor reception was an absolute vision. The vibe had a vintage island feel which included colorful local florals and tropical greens. It took place under a stunning clear top tent with romantic string lights and white lanterns. Guest tables included the dark wood cross-back chairs and were decorated with woven fans for each guest, Hawaiian cookies in cute woven boxes, and assorted colorful tropical floral arrangements.

Their vintage aloha theme really came to life with their specialty decor from Ambient Rentals! A Bamboo lounge set styled with pillows and rugs to match their color palette, a mustard loveseat, peacock chairs, deep green vintage sofa, natural rattan bamboo cocktail tables, and vintage rattan accent pieces like a bar cart and side tables! They also included a stunning bamboo bar from Aloha Artisans dressed with even more tropical florals and island greenery. Lastly, a little flare with a flashy disco side table and disco ball as a statement piece.

Aloha & Mahalo

The couple’s vision for their day came to life with dancing, hanging out with their loved ones, and romantic sunset on the beach with just the two of them! The entire day was so beautiful and overflowing with so much love and aloha! Huge Mahalo to the incredible group of vendors that made this day possible for Brooke and Rico.
