Nestled in downtown Honolulu, is Cafe Julia. A hidden gem venue that has a modern, city, artsy vibe. This vibe was exactly the inspiration Mischa and Nate wanted for their modern downtown Honolulu wedding. Mischa and Nate’s fun and easy-going personalities were so infectious. They lived in the moment of their special day and were absolutely glowing! Read on to see how we transformed Cafe Julia’s outdoor venue into a tropical, elegant, modern downtown Honolulu wedding.

One of our favorite parts of working at Cafe Julia is the quick transformation from ceremony to reception in the courtyard. Although the ceremony and reception took place in the same venue, it really felt like two completely different vibes. The ceremony was romantic and intimate. Lush freestanding tropical greenery designs framed Mischa and Nate as they said “I do” in front of their closest family and friends. Later, the same greenery framed their sweetheart table. Marie Blooms decorated the rest of the space with tropical greenery and vibrant red, pink, and orange traditional tropical blooms. Tapered champagne candlesticks and the surrounding skyscrapers gave the space it’s modern downtown Honolulu vibe. It was artsy, eclectic, and elegant. Then there was the vibe. The entire cloud was on cloud nine celebrating Mischa and Nate. The moment the dance-floor opened, not a guest was sitting down for the rest of the night!

If there is one color we absolutely fell in-love with this winter season, it’s emerald green. Mischa and Nate’s color palette was champagne, white, black, and a pleasant surprise, emerald green. From Mischa’s bridesmaids, Nate’s suit jacket, and to their freestanding assorted tropical greenery design, this color was perfect for their downtown artsy eclectic vibe. The traditional tropical vibrant shades accented the emerald green beautifully. In her gorgeous boho two-piece lace bridal dress with her elegant bridal updo and him in his emerald green colored suit jacket, Mischa and Nate looked effortlessly chic! This couple’s modern downtown Honolulu photos are 100% magazine-worthy!
