A Fun, Fresh and Tropical Inspired Wedding at Kualoa Ranch’s Low Camp

Every couple has a unique story on how they first met, what happened on their first date, and where they got engaged. Something that we love about weddings is that it is a time when these special memories are reflected on, laughed about, and shared with family and friends. Rick grew up in Hawaii, got engaged in Hawaii, and married the love of his life in Hawaii. This island will always hold a special place in this couple’s hearts. Just like their personalities, Glenda and Rick’s wedding day was fun and filled with love and aloha. This fresh tropical inspired wedding was one for the books!

Island Vibe

Glenda and Rick’s vision for their wedding day was to reflect the island. Natural greenery, and a fresh tropical vibe. And, what better location to have their wedding than Low Camp at Kualoa Ranch! Low Camp is located in  Ka’a’awa Valley, famous for the lush green and epic mountain and views. This site is also commonly known for movie locations and now, it is even more special for the couple because it is where they said, I do.

Their ceremony reflected the a beautiful natural, fresh tropical vibe of the day! A double rectangular arch adorned with vibrant local florals and greenery framed by the valley’s breathtaking mountain ridges.

Puaka’ie Floristry and Design were like island fairies sprinkling that fresh tropical vibe around the reception space. They decorated the reception space with monstera leaves, ferns, loose vibrant pink, red, orange, and purple tropical florals, and a pineapple. And the epic ceremony arch florals were repurposed for their sweetheart table and donut wall. These fresh tropical florals perfectly popped against the natural greenery of the venue. The island vibe was complete with a fresh coconut station, tropical cocktails mixed by Stir Beverage and local food served by Keneke’s Catering!

Donut Wall

Everybody loves donuts! Glenda and Rick wanted to steer away from the traditional wedding cake and instead opted for something unique and fun. A donut wall! The wall was filled with their favorite donuts from Oahu’s Donut King. Their personalized donut wall was a HUGE hit! The kids loved it. The adults loved it. The couple loved it. absolutely loved it. Rather than cutting a wedding cake, the couple shared a donut exchange. Just like from Lady and the Tramp, they chose a glazed donut and held it at opposite ends in their mouths. This was such a fun, romantic moment.

SO MUCH FUN

One of the most important things to Glenda and Rick for their wedding day was the fun level! And, it was FUN! From their first look that included their bridal party in the background cheering them on, to their first kiss as Mr. and Mrs. with guests chee-hooing in excitement. And from the bridal party grand entrance, to the fire knife performance topped off with open dancing. Everyone was having so much fun!  DJ Neekz did his thing and helped to turn the party up during open dancing. The party vibe was, a definitely a vibe! Fun level achieved!
