Secret Island + The Dragon Boat Lawn = Perfect Combination for a Hawaii Destination Wedding

With Dawn growing up in Hawaii it was very special for her to bring her man and all their family to celebrate their union with a destination wedding at Kualoa Ranch. This couple put together a timeline that fit their laid-back wedding style like a glove. Being from Hawaii the bride wanted to incorporate a combination of scenery and backdrops for her special day. They truly had it all a little beach, a little boat, little mountains, and a little jungle vibes. The bride and groom started out with a first look and exchange of personal vows at Kualoa beach park. The towering Ko’olau mountains created an epic backdrop for this sweet, intimate moment. They continued on to say I do at Kualoa Ranch’s Secret Island. Arriving by catamaran and then hosting their ceremony on a private beach, framed by towering palm trees, it doesn’t get more intimate wedding in Hawaii than at this location!

Dragon Boat Lawn

The reception took place back across the water at the Dragon Boat Lawn. This is a unique space with great history located at the base of the sacred 1000 ft high Kanehoalani mountain peak. It was the perfect setting for the reception celebration. We were so in love with this set up. Lots of organic vibes with dark wood farm tables, cross-back chairs, bar-front and dance floor all under a clear top tent to keep the feeling of being in nature. The string lighting created a warm, natural romantic atmosphere for the evening. The long family style farm tables created an intimate feel for the evening. The dark wood farm tables contrasted perfectly with white chiffon runners. The tables were dressed with tea light candles, ivory napkins, island greenery with pops of tropical florals, Clear carousel goblets and gold flatware. What a vibe! They also incorporated a statement piece by adding a peacock love seat for their sweetheart table.

The Vibe

The goal for the day was to create a fun, light, and laid-back vibe where guests could relax, have fun and enjoy each other’s company while drinking and dancing! The couple added lawn games and a beautiful wicker lounge set for guests to hang out in with a Monstera leaf back drop and Neon Sign that read With the You Had Me At Aloha”! It was the perfect addition to the whole atmosphere of the evening.
