A Classic and Chic Oceanfront Wedding – Lanikuhonua

Lanikuhonua means “where heaven meets the earth” and it perfectly describes Sophie and Glenn’s classic and chic oceanfront wedding. From ceremony to reception, the couple’s wedding was a romantic intimate family affair!

Through the Eyes of the Guests

One of the reasons we love working at Lanikuhonua is that the oceanfront lawn serves as a blank slate for couples to make their wedding vision come to life. This couple wanted to create a fun environment focusing on the guest experience where they could create memories to last a lifetime. Of course they wanted to capture these memories. So, as guests arrived Sophie and Glenn provided disposable cameras for their family and friends to take pictures with throughout the day. It was a huge hit! Their loved ones had so much fun taking pictures of memorable wedding day moments through their eyes. This was an incredibly special gift for Sophie and Glenn to reflect on post wedding!

A Memorable Processional

Set right by the sea this ceremony was personal and unforgettable! With an oceanfront backdrop, Sophie and Glenn said “I do” in front of Aloha Artisans’ wooden circular arch decorated with floral arrangements of mixed greenery and white roses. It was classic and romantic.

One of the most touching details of the couple’s wedding day was their processional. Rather than walking down to any musician and having a typical bridal party, Sophie and Glenn wanted to include kids within their family. One by one, each child walked down the aisle holding either florals or a ukulele. The kids, along with a guest from their wedding, played both processional songs for Glenn and Sophie. It was such a cute intimate moment.

The Reception

The couple’s reception vibe was clean, classic, and chic. The tables were dressed with fresh green garlands, white roses and classic rose floral centerpieces.  Each square glass charger was then decorated with a folded white linen with a loose spring greenery on top. Sophie and Glenn faced their loved ones in romantic white luxury loveseat. A seat that perfectly fit their classic and chic wedding vibe. The finishing touch was scattered pillar candles, which set the romantic tone for the evening.

Coconut Drinks!

Although the theme was classic and chic the couple wanted their guests to have a taste of the island. And what says island more than, fresh coconuts! The coconuts were cut to order and topped with cute white and gold straws. The coconuts were not only a popular refreshing drink, they also made cute cameos in the couple’s wedding photos!
