#Karpediem: Chic Romantic & Rich with Culture at Paliku Gardens

Love stories… each story is unique, yet all have one thing in common. And, that’s the story-telling sparkle in a storyteller’s eye. For this couple, their relationship was just meant to be. 15 years ago, Leah and Ben met at summer camp. They reconnected years later, began dating shortly after, and the rest is history. Leah grew up in Honolulu and recently moved back to Oahu with Ben. The couple envisioned a chic, romantic destination wedding, where everyone could enjoy Oahu’s natural beauty. And, what better location to have their wedding than overlooking Chinaman’s Hat and Kaneohe Bay at Paliku Gardens at Kualoa Ranch? Leah and Ben’s wedding day overflowed with love and happiness. It was perfect.

#Karpediem

Leah and Ben’s traditional Jewish ceremony took place at the Water Tower and it was a romantic garden floral ceremony setup! Creative Concepts by Jeff chuppah floral execution was dreamy and gorgeous! When we say a garden was placed on this chuppah, we mean it. Jeff and his team created an airy, romantic garden floral installation. The chuppah was filled with soft blush, ivory, white, dusty mauve, and butter yellow pastel florals with lush organic foliage. And, when Leah and Ben stood in front of it, it was as if they stepped into a romantic garden that just so happened to be their ceremony. The couple’s ceremony was beautiful and intimate. What made Leah and Ben’s ceremony so special, was the couple’s request that Leah’s friend, Rachel, sing her processional song, “Lecha Dodi.” It was magical. Leah and Ben waited an extra 496 days for their wedding celebration, so they wanted their guests to party accordingly. And, they did!

The cocktail hour and reception took place on the main lawn. The reception vibes were phenomenal! Island Kings Band kept the party vibes high all night long with their music. Before Leah and Ben knew it, it was time for the Horah dance! “The Horah” song started playing, the bridal party grabbed two chairs, and Leah and Ben were lifted in the air surrounded by their family and friends. Once the Horah dance was finished, it was open dancing for the rest of the night. And, Leah, Ben, and their guests did not leave the dance floor. Everyone definitely partied accordingly.

A Memorable First Dance

Not only did Rachel sing Leah’s processional song, she also sang the couple’s first dance song, “How Long Will I Love You,” by Ellie Goulding. Under the clear top tent, white drapery, and stringed cafe lights, Leah and Ben’s first dance was beautiful. On their feet, all of their guests swayed to Rachel’s singing as they watched Leah and Ben dance. Yet, all Leah and Ben saw was each other. Ben twirled his bride into his arms and Leah rested her hand on the back of his neck. Their smiles widened as they continued to dance. The twinkle in their eyes sparkled even brighter. It was the perfect first dance moment for this sweet couple.
