Known as “The First Lady of Waikiki,” The Moana Surfrider is a historic beachfront hotel. This luxury hotel is known for its oceanfront location, blend of historic Victorian elegance, and contemporary comfort. A timeless vibe! For Swissle and Paolo the Moana Surfrider was the perfect venue! Their vision was to match the vibe of the hotel: classic, modern, and elegant. The result was immaculate!

The ceremony took place on the Diamond Lawn. It was a white, classic, elegant and timeless dream! The altar was beautifully draped in white chiffon linen and adorned with a lush white floral arrangement at the top. In front, stood two pillars that with two matching white floral arrangements and . The aisle was lined with more English-styled classic white florals and scattered with white orchids. This white design was timeless. A harpist set a romantic atmosphere as Swissle walked down the aisle in her chic wedding gown and cathedral veil. Her husband could NOT take his eyes off his stunning bride.

The reception was a vision — crisp, classic, and elegant. The ceremony florals were repurposed to line the long guest tables and dress their sweetheart table. Although the Moana Surfrider is a beachfront hotel, the couple pivotted from the ocean backdrop and went for a dreamy, English garden vibe filled with greenery and white florals. The guests mingled, laughed, danced and celebrated love under cafe lights and a clear, Hawaiian sky. Before their grand entrance, Swissle changed into her second look — she put a modern twist on her classic bridal look for party time. With cold sparks in the background and everyone cheering them on as they entered as newlyweds, it was a moment they would all remember forever. 

Waikiki is a popular beach location for both tourists and locals. One of our favorite things in Waikiki is the sunsets! With Diamond Head, rolling waves, and soft golden lighting it makes for the absolutely perfect sunset photo location. We hope you enjoy the photos by Joseph Esser Photography as much as we do!
