This wedding was a romantic rustic fairytale. Rhio and Steve were a special couple with a unique story. From the opposite ends of the world, it was their jobs that brought them together. Now, they live in Japan together and found it fitting to return to Hawaii, Rhio’s home, to say their vows and celebrate their love with their friends and family from around the world. Riho grew up on Oahu and wanted to be surrounded by the beauty of the island on her special day. Paliku Gardens was the perfect venue for them with the majestic mountain, pristine pacific ocean, and lush greenery surroundings.

This couple was very designed focused with a very specific vision — a simple and romantic with a modern rustic flair. After months of planning and talking about the design it was incredibly rewarding to see it all come to life just as they had dreamed!

The ceremony was intimate and romantic. It took place in the Paliku Bowl with a gorgeous circular arch covered in soft romantic florals and light greenery that framed the iconic Chinaman’ Hat as the centerpiece feature. The most unique and personal element was that the officiant performed the ceremony in both English and Japanese.

The reception had a classic romantic meets rustic feel. The tent was filled with cathedral style cafe lights, chandeliers, and suspended greenery garlands creating an intimate fairytale ambiance. They enjoyed the evening in elegance at their sweetheart table decorated with cascading florals and foliage garlands and a white peacock chair. Guest tables featured ivory linens, ice pink napkins and lush, textured centerpieces in gold compote vases featuring green, blush, mauve and peach tones. Creative Concepts by Jeff totally knocked the floral game for this wedding out of the park.

The evening was overflowing with fun, love, dancing and SO much laughter. Their guests had a blast and were well entertained on the dance floor (thank you Bliss DJs Hawaii), playing in the super fun photo booth (HNL Photobooth), posing for photos in front of PalmPalm Parties ALOHA sign and sipping cocktails as they relaxed and chatted in the all-white styled lounge area by Aloha Artisans.

One of our favorite parts of the evening was their “Grand Exit” through a pathway of LED light-up balloons. At the end of the night, they ran through the balloons and all their loved ones on their way to start their life together as husband and wife, what an epic end to their fairytale wedding!
