Thinking about a destination wedding and taking your special day somewhere unique, personal and beautiful? There is lots of thought that goes into a destination wedding and it can become quite overwhelming. Hawaii is one of the largest destination wedding choices in the world. At Aloha Bridal Connections we encounter many destination brides. These are three of our favorite and what we think are most important tips to keep in mind when planning your destination wedding.

1. Do your Research!

The internet is your best friend! We can all agree planning a long distance wedding will not be easy. So log on to your good friend Google and start getting to know the details you need to plan your dream destination wedding. The internet will help you narrow down possible venues and vendors as well as can give an idea what time of year or any non-traditional settings your destination may have to offer. You want to pick the perfect spot to celebrate your day.

2. Budget!

Setting your budget is particularly crucial if you’ve chosen to have a destination wedding. Not only do you need to keep the cost of the wedding itself in mind but also what it will cost your guests. Once you have a vision for your wedding you will be able to set a realistic budget, whether it is an upscale hotel ceremony and reception or a casual family beach bash. Finally, you will need to keep travel time into account. Most destination weddings operate on a three-day schedule, which include a welcome or rehearsal dinner, the wedding and then a post wedding brunch or dinner. Don’t forget to add these days when finalizing your budget!

3. Hire a Wedding Planner!

Trying to plan your wedding alone is a challenge, not to mention planning it from thousands of miles away.  Whether your wedding is big or small, there are millions and millions of details to be considered and having a wedding staff to help you will relieve a lot of your wedding stress. Having a wedding planner who is at the location of your destination wedding can ease your mind when asking questions and making decisions in terms of venues, vendors, pricing, accommodations and all the other details you inquire about.  Your on site destination planner will be your eyes and ears until you arrive and once you get there will be the perfect partner to ensure your wedding runs smoothly.
