Sometimes things don’t go as planned. You could be on top of your planning game and confirming with all your vendors. But sometimes, you find yourself surprised by an unexpected bump in the road.

Speaking from experience, one bride had a contract with a florist to arrange an all white bouquet with soft accents of peonies. Even though the bride had confirmed the contract, the florist arrived with an all pink bouquet of roses. Roses were in the contract, however, they were labeled as something the bride specifically did not want! This definitely put us in a tough spot! Our coordinators contacted our own florist friends and explained our bump in the road. Generously, they were able to supply our bride with the bouquet that she had dreamed of. However, our bride decided to roll with the punches and accept the bouquet wrongfully given to her.

Another example that comes to our mind was when a limo company gave the driver the wrong information regarding place and time of pick-up. Thankfully, our lead coordinator was watching the time and called the limo service when they were just five minutes late to check in on them. Again, with prior confirmation with the limo service, we could not have foreseen this dilemma approaching. Everything worked out even though the limo was 20 minutes late. Our planning strategy allotted for extra traveling time to the chapel just in case of these type of scenarios. This literal bump in the road with our limo service allowed our lead coordinator to negotiate a discount for their error.

These are just a couple of examples as to why it’s always a good idea to hire a Day-of-Coordinator. It offers a professional non-biased opinion with familiarity with how to deal with difficult vendors. Also, it takes the stress off the people who should be enjoying their day carefree. You wouldn’t want your friends and family to have to smooth out any bumps in the road on your wedding day!
